From the collections of the Fryderyk Chopin Society

The Mariánské Lázně City Museum and Gallery in cooperation with the Fryderyk Chopin Society has prepared an exhibition entitled "From the Collections of the Fryderyk Chopin Society" for August. In the Goethe Gallery, visitors will be able to see the artworks of leading Czech artists who have created a wide range of prints and paintings for the Society, referring to the life of the Polish composer and pianist, his work and his stay in Mariánské Lázně in 1836. The opening of the exhibition will take place on Tuesday, 6 August 2024 at 18:00. During the gala evening, Zdeněk Troška's film "In Search of the Blue Tone" will be screened. Zdeněk Troška, while still a student at FAMU, made a short film about the love between Fryderyk Chopin and the young Maria Wodzińska. The film was based on the collection of poems of the same name by Jiri Karen. This year, the film from 1980 was converted into digital form and viewers will see a restored version. The exhibition "From the Collections of the Fryderyk Chopin Society" will run from Tuesday 6 August to Sunday 1 September 2024.
