The Kynžvart State Chateau is pleased to announce that on 8 June 2024 a series of extraordinary events will take place that promise an unforgettable experience for all visitors.
Castle festivities
On Saturday 8 June 2024, the traditional castle festivities will take place at Kynžvart Castle. Visitors can look forward to a rich cultural programme which, as always, includes a traditional craft fair. Pony rides will be prepared for the little ones. Falconry performances will also be very attractive. Traditionally, there will be a sung mass to St. Anthony in the chateau chapel .
Unveiling of the Monument to the Two Emperors
As part of the project "In the Footsteps of Noble Families", the National Heritage Institute will present the annual theme "Habsburgs at Home in the Czech Lands" to the public in 2024 . On this occasion, Kynžvart Castle has prepared an interesting event for Saturday 8 June, the unveiling of the obelisk - Monument to the Two Emperors in the castle park on the occasion of the completion of the restoration of the monument designed by Pietro Nobile.
Thegarden historical celebration with the participation of hawk clubs will start at 14:00. It will include an appearance by Emperor Ferdinand I, who was present with the Empress at the laying of the foundation stone in 1835. The original design by Pietro Nobile, a recent acquisition from the Trieste archives, will also be presented.
Lecture on "Metternich's Monument to the Two Emperors"
At 17:00, the programme will conclude with a lecture by Tatiana Petrasova CSc. (Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic) on "Metternich's Monument to Two Emperors".
Open Gardens Weekend
Alongside the programme of the Chateau Festival, the Open Gardens Weekend will also take place on Sunday 9 June 2024. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the beauty of the chateau gardens and take part in guided tours at scheduled times. A special tour "Behind the greats of the castle gardens" with RnDr. Jaroslav Michálek will take place on 8 June at 15:00 at the monument to the two emperors.
