The town of Mariánské Lázně and the UNESCO site manager cordially invite all music and history lovers to the unique exhibition Rendezvous at the Fountain, which will take place from September 2024 to April 2025 in the vicinity of the Maxim Gorky Colonnade. The Rendezvous exhibition offers visitors a unique insight into the work and lives of eleven important composers and composers who were associated with famous European spa towns. Among the artists on display are names such as Fryderyk Chopin, Richard Strauss, Clara Schumann, Ludwig van Beethoven and Antonín Dvořák. Their works represent not only a cultural legacy, but also a reminder of the influence of spa towns on musical creation over several centuries.
The aim of the exhibition is not only to celebrate the historical significance of Europe's spa towns, which have been included in the UNESCO Great Spa Towns of Europe site since 2021, but also to highlight the lasting inspiration that these towns continue to provide to artists today. The exhibition thus offers an exceptional opportunity to take a glimpse into Europe's rich musical history and to deepen your knowledge of composers whose work has had a major impact on the world music scene. The exhibition will be open until the reconstruction of the Singing Fountain is completed in spring 2025. For more information, please visit the official website of the town of Mariánské Lázně.
