On the evening of Friday 14 March 2025, a concert entitled "Two Faces of Baroque" will take place at the Casino Community Centre. Flute player Julie Braná and harpsichordist Alena Tichá, accompanied by the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra, will present Baroque music in its traditional and modern forms.
The West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra invites you to a unique concert that combines Baroque mastery with 20th century compositions inspired by this period. Under the baton of virtuoso interpreters - flutist Julia Brané and harpsichordist Alena Tiché - the works of well-known Baroque composers and modern compositions referring to the Baroque tradition will be performed.
Listeners can look forward to virtuoso sonatas by Johann Sebastian Bach and Domenico Scarlatti, Benedetto Marcello's famous concerto, as well as various variations on the legendary theme of La Folia - performed by solo recorder, harpsichord and their dialogue with each other. The musical evening will also be enriched by 20th-century compositions, such as Bohuslav Martinů's Impromptus or compositions by H.M. Linde and G. Jacob, which bring a modern perspective on Baroque music.
