West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra
Mariánské Lázně boasts the oldest symphony orchestra in the Czech lands. Its history is linked to the beginning of the spa's foundation. The year 1821 is given as the year of the foundation of this permanent musical ensemble. Over the years, many bandleaders, conductors and musicians have been replaced. The orchestra's activity is year-round. It consists of regular Friday symphony concerts, subscription concerts, as well as operetta and popular concerts. During the summer season, the orchestra also performs at the colonnade. Leading Czech and foreign soloists and choirs regularly perform with the orchestra. The traditional cultural value and high artistic quality of the orchestra are the reason for the growing interest of the audience.
