Horní hrad Castle and Chateau
Hauenštejn Castle was founded by the Czech King in the second half of the 13th century and was generously enlarged and remodeled in the neo-Gothic style by the Buquoys family during the 19th century.
Welcome to this noble residence, a remarkable castle boasting many an idyllic corner and great views. Here you can follow the castle's architectural story step by step throughout the centuries in the spirit of the motto 'HOW A CASTLE IS BUILT '. There are self-guided tours around the castle complex and you can also visit the multi-storey Gothic casemates and the Knight's Hall with its original carved wood ceiling, climb the tower, peek into the chateau's chapel, view the exhibition of wood sculptures in the chateau gallery or take a stroll in the large sub-alpine parks. All in all, a great day out.
