Loket Castle
Loket is a very old town with a castle of the same name. Both rise above the valley of the Ohře River between Karlovy Vary and Sokolov.

Kynžvart Chateau
The chateau in Kynžvart was originally a Baroque Residence but the Austrian Chancellor Metternich had it rebuilt into an Empire mansion between 1821 and 1836.

Goethe's Retreat
'Goethe's Retreat' is a sandstone obelisk and two stone resting places on the side of Hamelika Hill. Goethe used to sit here on a bench, sometimes with Ulrika von Levetzow, or alone, spending many hours in contemplation here. The obelisk was built in August 1848 to recall Goethe's three sojourns in Mariánské Lázně between 1821 and 1823.

Smraďoch
As you walk through this part of the Slavkovský Forest, you may wonder what that rotten smell is. It comes from small rifts which host no life. Bleached skulls of field mice and forest birds, together with a myriad of insects grimly complete the picture.

Kynžvart Rock - Kynžvartský kámen
Kynžvart Kámen is one of the lesser known natural monuments of Slavkovský Forest. It’s located not far from the old route connecting the train station of Lázně Kynžvart with the town itself, north of Luční Pond.

Komorní hůrka educational trail
Komorní Hůrka is our youngest volcano – it was known to be active around 850,000 years ago, with some evidence suggesting it only became dormant as recently as 350,000 years ago.
